Whooshhhhh! I've always looked forward to sharing my side of the story of how I met John and here I am joyfully sharing, I hope you enjoy it in the end. ***** On the 2nd of April, 2019, I viewed the WhatsApp status of one of my baby girls back in Uni and I saw a flyer of a Tedx event that was to be held in ACU, I really wanted to go since I had missed the one in UI the previous year. I called the number there to inquire about the event which I didn't eventually attend and a young man picked it up, he introduced himself as 'John' and yes, you guessed right, I saved it as 'John TEDx' and he saved mine as 'Leah UI'...lol! I messaged him on Whatsapp to remind him of the feedback I expected him to give as regards the event and that was how we started chatting, although, at first it was seldom but it then metamorphosed into something beautiful, I became fond of him as my good friend and someone I didn't want to lose because I was building my solid circle of friends as at then so why not add a Lawyer to the clique too. On the 3rd of May, 2019, I updated my status with the question 'Ask me anything' and John replied with 'tell me about yourself' and believe me when I say that till date, I'm still telling 'John TEDx' turned my Heartthrob about myself...lol! It's been 4 years 2 months now and all I can say is it's been worth it, I bless God that I placed that call through and for my Big Baby who picked up. The journey has been filled with true love, intentionality, joy, growth, and deep lessons, I'm immensely grateful for my own man, he's my best fit, he's a treasure to me and my own person. In him I find myself, my complete package and proof of Christ's love to me! I love you, Jhay.

It started as a random phone conversation and ended as a beautiful love story. It was just another random day as a student of the faculty of law, year 2019. I was in my final year and plans were in top gear for my first TEDx event that I was to organize in school later that year. I was on my way to class when I received a call from an unknown number. It turned out to be a lady from the University of Ibadan. She introduced herself as Leah and said she wanted to make enquiries about attending the TEDx event happening in my school. I told her I will get back to her but I forgot to and she sent me a message on Whatsapp to remind me. Our conversations started from there. Eventually, she couldn't travel down to attend the TEDx event but we kept talking. I started taking particular interest in her status updates for no particular reason. I would respond to her Whatsapp status updates and she turned out to be quite conversational. Then one day, she posted an update on her Whatsapp status, "Ask me anything". Boldly, I typed, "Tell me more about you." She obliged and I returned the favour. I discovered we shared a lot in common. She was witty and funny too..still is, lol. We stopped talking for a while till I finished my final exams and came back home. After my graduation ceremony, she posted my pictures and congratulated me gleefully and we picked up again. One day, this beautiful woman who would later become my dearest heartthrob and wife, posted some pictures that made flies to flutter their wings in my belly. I thought to myself, "this girl is actually fine o". It was as though the scale fell off my eyes, lol. "She's Godly, smart, conversational and beautiful." Right there and then, I started nursing romantic affections towards her. Over the next couple of days, our bond over the phone grew stronger and it wasn't hard to tell that we were already fond of each other. We started talking about meeting in person and the opportunity came when I traveled from Ife, Osun State to meet her at the TEDxUI event in the University of Ibadan. One of the things that struck me on first sight was her effortless beauty and simplicity. Dressed in a free, flowing and short black gown that sashayed beautifully with the rhythmic sway of her waists, a pair of white heels, and a light make-up blending perfectly with her dark, shiny melanin skin, I was enamoured and blown away. She gave me a crocheted wrist-band that she made herself and some sweet cookies that I took back with me to Ifè. The first compliment she paid me was that I look more handsome in person. I will admit unashamedly that I was smitten by her. After that meeting and on my way back to Ife, I knew this was more than a friend. Through divine leading and the romantic yearnings our hearts had for each other, I decided not to waste time in making my intentions known. Few days after her birthday, on the 5th of December, 2019, I asked her out on a relationship with marriage in view. On the 22nd of February, 2020, she gave me the big YES. The next couple of months witnessed our relationship blossom from friends to lovers and though it has been a rollercoaster of sweet and tough moments, learning and unlearning, there is no other person I would rather do life with than with Leah Simileoluwa. On the 31st of October, 2023, I asked her to be mine officially on a bended knee with a ring and a bouquet. I would gladly do this over and over again. I call her "Pearl" because she exemplifies everything precious and valuable to me that I need and want in a wife much more than the world's most priceless possessions. This is the story behind eLJay!❤️💍💘
